About Punawala

Built by watching distributors run their business on three notebooks.

Punawala started in 2021 after our founders spent a year visiting distribution warehouses across Maharashtra, trying to understand why software built for enterprises never stuck with smaller trading businesses.

The problem we kept seeing

A salesperson wrote orders in a notebook. The godown keeper tracked stock in a register. The accountant re-typed everything into Tally at month-end, usually finding a mismatch. Nobody had one number they could all trust on the same day.

Enterprise ERP software solved this for large companies — but came with six-month implementations and pricing that didn't make sense for a business with two branches and twelve staff. So we built Punawala to fit that gap: powerful enough to replace the notebooks, simple enough to set up in an afternoon.

What guides our roadmap

  • • Works on a patchy 4G connection in a small-town warehouse, not just a fibre office line.
  • • Never locks in your data — export to Excel any time, no questions asked.
  • • Built around how Indian distribution actually runs: credit cycles, godowns, GST, and field sales.
